Today, my beautiful daughter, Rachel is having surgery. She has an auto-immune disease that has made many surgeries necessary. I will be going back in a week or so to help with the house, children, etc. once she gets to come home.
This morning, I was sitting on the couch, praying. I have been since I awoke.
I had my hands over my eyes so I could concentrate. (I haven't yet vacuumed, so there is dog hair blowing around the floor.)
I heard one of the dogs get up and walk across the floor. Next thing I knew, there was a paw on my leg, then a LARGE dog on my lap.
And I was being schnuzzled with a wet nose and kissed. By Franz.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Animals are amazing. They KNOW when we need comfort. The few times my husband was ill his cat always knew he was sick and would lay right next to him. Something he normally did not do.
ReplyDeleteI will keep you and your daughter in my prayers.
Sending comforting hugs your way, Sue
Isn't it amazing how God made dogs so that they tune into us? A man we did not know well sat in our living room and cried about a dream of his that hasn't come true yet. Our dog immediately went over to comfort him.
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter is doing well.
I found your blog because I think you and I are some of the few women in the world who like the old movie, "Wind and the Lion". It's one of my husband's favorites as well.
